Randon Aea
LMHC
Psychotherapist
I was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. As a Native Hawaiian, throughout my childhood, I absorbed influences from various cultures sparking my interest and profound respect for others and their cultures distinct from my own. Throughout my earlier years, people often acknowledged my skill as a ‘good listener’ and although my future profession remained uncertain, I was certain I wanted to help others. Upon high school graduation, I relocated from Oahu to Seattle to enroll at the University of Washington, where I have resided ever since.
My Approach
After college, my first job was working with at-risk youth. Following several years in similar roles, I decided to further my education, recognizing it as a necessity to thrive in the behavioral health field. Armed with my experiences thus far, I enrolled in Seattle University to pursue a graduate degree in psychology and undergo training as a psychotherapist. Throughout my academic journey, I developed my therapeutic approach rooted in clinical psychology, philosophy, and the humanities. I honed the skills to be fully present with others' experiences of suffering and distress, guiding them to uncover the meaning behind their pain to initiate the healing process through therapy.
In my approach to psychotherapy, I tailor each person's treatment according to their needs. My experience encompasses various treatment modalities, including but not limited to CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Strength-based Therapy.
Services
I offer therapy services for individuals. I see clients 18 years and older.
Currently, I provide services via Telehealth to clients who reside in Washington State.
I do not offer case management services, which includes but is not limited to providing paperwork for disability, unemployment, custody, adoption, foster care, car accidents and any type of legal issues.
